Expanded metal screens are a very effective and by far the least expensive way to keep leaves and large debris out of your gutter system. They are made from expanded galvanized steel wire, with a smooth black powder coated finish.
The nice thing about these gutter screens is that you can look right through them and see if your gutter needs to be washed out. Just spray water from a garden hose right through the screens and flush the debris out through the downspout and onto the ground.
I can't claim these screens will keep out all debris, that's why I use larger downspout outlets and install your gutters using a level as a guide, pitching the gutters toward the downspout. This pitch causes the water and debris to flow towards the downspout and aids in self cleaning.
Its important to remember that even with these expanded metal leaf screens installed , you'll still need to inspect your gutters several times a year and wash out any debris that makes it through the screens. You may also need to remove twigs or pine needles that get tangled up. Climbing ladders is dangerous. If you do not feel comfortable inspecting or cleaning your gutters, Please contact us.

Gutter leaf protection systems are designed to keep the leaves and twigs out of your gutters while letting the rain water and small debris pass through.
While I haven't seen a perfect system yet, I have developed a good system which is much less expensive. After doing my own research, I have found that expanded metal screens placed on a properly installed gutter system is the best value for your money and that is the only type that I install.
